When I worked at the Department of Juvenile Justice I was late to work one morning. My hair was in a haphazard ponytail, I had little to no makeup on and my slacks were wrinkled. I wasn't concerned about any of it though simply glad to have made it to work before my boss.
Well, one of my co-workers saw me and my relaxed attitude and said to me, "Life is in session." Basically she was telling me to pull myself together.
I've just returned home from a gospel meeting where my dad was speaking in Washington, D.C. and the city is so busy; you can tell that things are happening there. People are about their business and getting things done. Life is in session.
I don't know what's going on in your life or what needs to be going on but you do and now is the time to take inventory, make a plan and get back to your work.
Ephesians 5:14-17 says, "Therefore He says: “Awake, you who sleep, Arise from the dead, And Christ will give you light. ”See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is."
Nothing is too hard for God. Take your burdens to the Lord and leave them there. Ignoring or avoiding your work doesn't make it go away. It's still your work now it's just piling up.
Have you stepped back from being of service in the kingdom? Have you stepped back from nurturing and providing for your family? Have you stepped back from reverencing your husband? Have you stepped back from loving your friends?
Life is in session, tomorrow isn't promised and as Benjamin Franklin said, "Then do not squander time, for that's the stuff life is made of."
P.S. Share this with your friends and encourage someone in their walk with our Savior!
