Logan is officially two months old and he is such a thoughtful little guy.
He makes sure I get to watch the sunrise almost every morning! Even though I'd enjoy a few more moments of rest before the day gets going; he knows what's best for his mama.
And as I watched the morning sky change from early, foggy dawn to pink and purple sunrise then to blue cloudy skies, I immediately thought of Psalm 19.
Psalm 19:1-4 says, "The heavens declare the glory of God; And the firmament shows His handiwork. Day unto day utters speech, And night unto night reveals knowledge. There is no speech nor language Where their voice is not heard. Their line has gone out through all the earth, And their words to the end of the world."
The heavens truly declare God's glory and they speak a language that anyone can hear and understand. From it we can know that there is a Great Designer.
We can know this world was not an accident or an after thought. It is a beautiful demonstration of God's handiwork for man and an invitation to seek Him out.
And speaking of seeking Him out how is your summer in the Psalms going?
I had grand illusions of sitting down with a cup of tea and a pretty notebook while I delved deep into the scriptures, but really I've simply been reading on my phone out loud to my boys.
And that's the beauty of a simple study. There are no rules or right or wrong ways to get into the word; you only have to start by reading it.
The heavens aren't the only thing that declares God's glory; His word declares it as well. We only need to seek Him and study.
